A cowboy shows the kids how to use a lasso. |
The events and activities included; a mechanical bull, pony and donkey rides, armadillo races, a hot box with branding irons to brand the company logo, a chance to lasso a mechanical calf, and tours of the 480 acre historic property and it's buildings complete with tour guides in period dress. Of course Granddad Hopkins and I("Sam") also managed to find the poker table for a few hands.
Josiah really enjoyed the pony rides and probably went on half a dozen rides. As you can see in the video above he is really loving it. After all the fun and games we settled down for an old fashioned hay ride (see below) that took us through the historical property, we stopped at a few of the buildings for tours and the kids really enjoyed exploring and seeing the sites.
The children enjoying an old fashioned hay ride. Thank you to Eric Tanzberger and Tammy Moore of SCI for making this happen, our family had a great time. |
